KAYA Challenges use one of four scoring types, depending on your gym's settings for that challenge:
Linear scoring: Points are calculated on a linear basis by grade (for example, V1 = 100 points, V2 = 200 points, and so on).
Handicap scoring: Your score is directly tied to your registered max grade.
Relative scoring: Designed so climbers of any skill level can compete on equal footing. Scoring is based on your self-reported V-Max (a grade you can climb in 5 attempts on a regular basis). You get 100 points for climbs at your V-Max grade, plus 10 additional points for every grade above that. Optionally, 1 point may be deducted per attempt.
Custom scoring: Your gym assigns its own custom point value to each climb.
Check with your gym to find out which scoring type your challenge uses.
