What's the difference between Verified and Unmoderated Destinations?

The difference between Verified and Unmoderated destinations in KAYA's guidebooks, and what to expect from each.

KAYA PRO offers offline maps and climb data for two types of outdoor destinations.

Verified Destinations are KAYA's official guidebooks, identifiable by the green verified shield. Climb data in these areas has been vetted and approved by the KAYA team along with a guidebook author and often a local climbing organization. Users can still add new climbs here, but that data needs approval from the destination moderator. Verified Destinations include accurate GPS coordinates for climbs and parking, detailed approach information, topos and descriptions for all climbs, and consistent updates (new climbs, hold breakage, area closures, etc.).

Unmoderated Destinations run on community data and don't yet have an official moderator. GPS coordinates, grades, and descriptions aren't guaranteed to be up to date, but the crowdsourced information still has real value. Climbers are encouraged to add new climbs, descriptions, and GPS coordinates in these areas. Incorrect data can be flagged using the Report Content feature. Offline access still works in Unmoderated Destinations.
