HOW TO LOG CLIMBS
ON KAYA
Log Your Climbs. Track Your Progress. See Your Improvement.
Logging attempts and sends is a great way to track and measure your progress. Over time, logging your climbs gives you a snapshot of your climbing history and how you’re performing and improving. On KAYA, the climber’s app, there are a few different ways to log your attempts and sends:
Gesture Swipe on the Climb List
The easiest way to log ascents on KAYA is with a simple swipe on your gym or crag’s climb list. If your gym doesn't have a climb list, don't worry! You can still track your climbs. Click here to learn how to start Logging Climbs at a Gym That Hasn't Partnered With KAYA.
Step 1: From the home page, search for or tap the Gym or Destination.
Step 2: Tap "Filter" to swap between boulders and routes, when available.
Step 3: Find your climb
Gyms: Scroll the climb list or use the gym map to pan and zoom into different zones to find your climb.
Outdoors: Use the map, scroll the climb list, use filters, or tap the name of the Destination to open the dropdown taxonomy menu to find your climb.
Step 4: Swipe right on the climb in the climb list to log a send.
Pro Tip: Once sent, use the camera icon and pencil icon from the climb list to add media and additional details to your climbs such as attempts, rating, and comments.
Free users can only log ascents via gesture swipe.
KAYA PRO Subscribers can swipe left to log an attempt for a climb they have not yet sent.
On the Climb Page
Tap on the climb instead of swiping to bring up the climb page. Here you can include more detailed information about your send. You can rate the climb, add movement tags, leave comments, and more.
Step 1: Select from the list of locations you follow or search for a location
Step 2: Tap “View Climbs” from the profile screen to discover the climb list.
Step 3: Tap “Log Send”.
KAYA PRO Subscribers can tap "Attempt" to log attempts on un-sent climbs.
By Uploading a Beta Video
Upload beta videos and other media by clicking on the + at the top of your social feed. You can link this media to the climb, log attempts and sends, and include any other climb data or comments you wish.
Step 1: Tap the social feed and click the “+” icon on the top right corner
Step 2: Select the media you want to upload
Step 3: Tag a climb
Step 4: Log sends and attempts, and any other data for the climb.
Using Your Logbook
Once you’ve logged your first climb of the day, KAYA creates a new logbook session for you. Tap the logbook icon in the top right corner to open your logbook and edit the climbs inside.
Step 2: Tap the pencil icon to edit the number of attempts and add any other data or comments.
Free users can only access the current session and log attempts for climbs they've sent.
PRO subscribers have access to historical session data, analytics, and can log attempts on projects they have not yet sent.
